On Wednesday 15th
march, our group had made a presentation to the students of grade 12. This
presentation was a briefing of what Intellectual Property is and all the laws
relating to this particular top. The students were familiarized with our topic
and awareness was spread regarding the same. There were about 80 students who attended this talk. The topics covered were:-
Ø We started with a brief introduction to
Intellectual Property Rights.
Ø Then we moved on to talk about the exact meaning
IPR along with a few relevant examples regarding the same.
Ø We then introduced the topic of Copyrights to
the students.
Ø The students were then introduced to the topic
of Trademarks
Ø A very common mistake made by everyone is that
they cannot differentiate between Copyright and Trademarks. This difference was
explained to them along with relevant examples to make them further understand
the topic better.
Ø The last topic was the Infringement of
copyrights and what is the consequence of doing the same.
All these topics
helped the students get familiarized with what exactly IPR is. As the first
activity of our awareness campaign, this event was a great success.
