Dubai Customs launched the IP Award for Schools and Universities, in line with its IPR Department’s plan to encourage full community engagement in IPR protection and to educate students on their intellectual rights and how to reserve them. On the 26th April of every year, the Dubai Customs organizes an annual award ceremony in the celebration of World Intellectual Property Day to honor all its partners and leading exporters and importers. The results of the IPR Award for Schools and Universities, in which the JSSPS IPR Team had taken part in were announced.
Our team had worked extremely hard on this project even between our busy 12th grade schedules and tests occurring simultaneously. Despite some difficulties during this memorable journey, we were able to perform to best of our abilities and excel. This was indeed a very cherished time for all who are part of the team. All the knowledge we were given access to was great and will not only be used now, but also will be used later, once we step out of this bubble we call “high school”. We had an immense amount of exposure and were able to interact with different kinds of people and were able to have very memorable experiences.
All the hard work put in by the entire team definitely paid off when we won the IPR Award. This award not only brought great recognition to the school but also to the members of the team. During the ceremony, the IPR Ambassador of JSS Private School was also awarded for her work course of the year in her post.
Our team wouldn’t have been able to reach this position without the guidance of Mrs. Gwen Dickson and Mrs. Sumitha Das. Not to forget Mr. Shabeel Ummer who was with us every step of way. We genuinely thank Mr. Thyab Ali and the Dubai Customs for bestowing us with such an amazing opportunity to grow as individuals.
